Who attends Yoga Journal LIVE?
Yoga Journal LIVE! is for everybody! It is a community of top teachers, practitioners, yoga enthusiasts, and those new to yoga. Yogis of every experience level, from those stepping on the mat for the very first time to those who have been practicing for years, come together for deeper study and joy. The event is a great convergence of yogis from Colorado, the U.S. and abroad!
What is the Yoga Market and Sangha Space?
In addition to classes and special events, each Yoga Journal LIVE! event features a Yoga Market that is free and open to the public. Here you will find products, services, and samples from a variety of partners and vendors, Sangha Space stage with demos, music, happy hours, and more!
I like yoga, but I'm not an advanced student or yoga teacher. Is Yoga Journal LIVE! for me?
Yes! You need not be an advanced practitioner to enjoy Yoga Journal LIVE! This is a unique opportunity to explore the many styles of yoga, different teachers, and to discover the practice that speaks to you. An open mind is a great asset for your experience, as you will find many new ideas presented by teachers whom you have read about in Yoga Journal or followed along online or in a video. It is a chance to experience world-class yoga instruction, discover how your favorite styles of yoga are evolving, and sample many styles of yoga in one place.
I'm not a yoga teacher but am thinking about becoming one. Are Continue Your Education classes for me?
The Continue Your Education classes are geared towards yoga teachers and teachers-in-training. However, advanced students thinking about becoming yoga teachers may appreciate the in-depth discussions and explorations that these classes provide.
What is included in my registration fees?
In addition to your classes you have access to the Yoga Market and most daily special events-morning meditations, demos, panel discussions, and lunchtime workshops. Transportation, meals, and lodging are not included in registration fees.
What should I bring?
Don't forget your yoga mat and any props that you regularly use in your practice. A blanket or meditation cushion is helpful if you plan to participate in meditation classes. You may also want to bring a notebook and pen, a refillable water bottle, slip-on shoes (or flip flops) and of course, comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely. Please read course descriptions carefully for other required items. These items may also be for sale in the Yoga Market. Please check your program for hours of operation.
Are there Continuing Education Credits available?
Yoga Journal is recognized by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a continuing education specialist, and many of the Weekend classes are eligible for CECs for athletic and fitness professionals. Check back soon for a list of approved classes.
All classes are eligible for Continuing Education Credits with Yoga Alliance. To receive Yoga Alliance credits, simply save a copy of your class record (badge or confirmation email.) Yoga Alliance will contact you when they need you to submit your continuing education information. Separate certificates are not needed for Yoga Alliance.
Where is YMCA OF THE ROCKIES located and how do I get there?
Yoga Journal LIVE: Colorado will be held at the Estes Park Center YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, CO, located 70 miles northwest of Denver and 40 miles from Boulder. Denver International Airport (DEN) is the closest airport.
What are the accommodations?
The YMCA offers a wide range of accommodations to suit every budget. Prices range from $71.13 per person per night for a shared room (4 to a room in Eastside Lodge) and from $137 per person per night for a single room, including three vegetarian or fish, cafeteria-style meals per day.

Meals begin with dinner the day of arrival and end with lunch the day of departure. If you are not staying in lodge accommodations, individual meals can be purchased for $11.48 (breakfast), $14.18 (lunch), and $18.23 (dinner). Please note that meals are not included with cabin reservations.

How do I get from DEN to Estes Park?
Estes Park is approximately two hours from Denver International Airport (DEN). The Estes Park Shuttle can take you from DEN directly to the YMCA. Call 970-586-5151, or visit estesparkshuttle.com for information. Book online using group code "yoga" by Sept. 7, 2016 and receive a 25% discount ($33.75 one way / $63.75 round trip) Reservations made from Sept. 8 - 15th will be discounted 10% ( $40.50 one way or $76.50 round trip) Short notice reservations made between September 16 - 22, will not be discounted. Note: There are a limited number of shuttles per day between DEN and Estes Park-check the shuttle times before you make your flight arrangements. Upon arrival at DEN: Meet shuttle driver on East side of terminal at door 513. Cross over to Island 1.
Do I need to stay at the YMCA of the Rockies?
No. However, staying on site at the YMCA of the Rockies does enhance your experience. You will not have to worry about commuting to the event and you will share meals with the other attendees-a great way to meet new friends and expand your yoga community!
Can I register for just one class during the weekend?
Advanced registrations are only accepted for day passes or a weekend pass. Single class passes will be available for sale (on a space-available basis) beginning Monday, September 19, 2016.
What if I want to change a class?
Class changes are welcome on a space-available basis and can be made online, by email or phone in advance by Friday, September 16, or on site during the event. After the first change, a $10 fee will apply.
How do I add something to my existing registration?
Contact the coordinator at 800-561-9398 or 303-625-1650 or via email to Registration@yjmag.com. There is no additional fee to add to your registration.
Is there a check-in procedure at Yoga Journal LIVE?
Yes. You must check in at the Yoga Journal Registration Desk and must have a photo ID or a copy of your registration records to pick up your badge. Class access badges will be presented to you upon check-in and will be your only admission to events. Badges MUST be presented at the door of each classroom to be admitted.
What happens if I lose my badge?
Be sure to check in with the Registration Desk as soon as you realize you've lost your badge. Most badges are found by other attendees and turned in to the Registration Desk. If your badge is not found, a replacement badge will be reissued for a $20 fee.
Who do I contact if I can't make it to the event?
Last-minute cancellations must be received via email before your first scheduled class in order to be considered for a voucher; all cancellations within 24 hours of your first class are not automatically eligible for a voucher. All voucher consideration will be completed after the event, and all supporting documentation for voucher requests must be received by Friday, September 30, 2016. Are you looking for people to be part of the event?
Yes, we have a work exchange participation program. Work exchange participants do not register for classes but can participate in classes on a space-available basis when not fulfilling their assigned duties. Work exchange participants pay a nominal fee to participate. Positions are limited; apply early. For more information, contact our registration team via email at KMares@aimmedia.com.
Can I help to promote the event before Yoga Journal LIVE?
Yes, we would love your help in spreading the word about our event and there are many ways to be involved! Please click here if you are interested in becoming an outreach volunteer or studio partner.
Is there someplace to store my mat and props during lunch and other long breaks?
No, there is no place to store your belongings during the breaks. You may be able to place your mat and props into your next classroom during the breaks. However, we strongly discourage bringing any valuables to the event. Unfortunately, losses have occurred at past events. Yoga Journal and the YMCA of the Rockies are not responsible for any lost or stolen items throughout the event.
